Let he who boasts, boast in the Lord our rock

August 25, 2017

I have been boastful in my life about the blessings that God has given me. Some may even think that I have been intolerably boastful. My heart was not to offend. I have always felt that these boastings will lead others to the cross, and to the one true God who can also bless their lives. God is no respecter of persons. The blessings that he gives to one he will give to another. My motivation in boasting in the blessings of my God was only to lead others to him.

I will also say that even if God chooses not to bless my life, I will still serve him. There is nowhere else to turn but to him. He is my only peace.  I have tried many times in my life to find peace outside of God.  It never worked.  He is the only peace I have ever known.  I will serve him forever just to remain in his peace.

I didn’t grow up wealthy.  In fact, it was just the opposite.  I know what it is like to live in houses that are not beautiful and not sought after.  I know what it is like to feel like an adopted son of a richer family, and to see others in that family receive inheritances, when I received nothing.  I know what it is like to have my inheritance taken from me repeatedly.  I have had a lot stolen from my life.

The problem with everything I just wrote, in the last paragraph, is that these beliefs are a manufactured lie of the enemy.  These thoughts have power within me because I came into agreement with them.  The devil whispered them, and they became bitter morsels that I rolled around in my mouth; and then I swallowed them, which produced almost like an acid within my heart.  These thoughts would have killed me in the end, if I had not repented of them.

You see the truth is: our inheritance only comes from the Father, and he is never going to take it from us.  He leads us to repentance and forgiveness.  If our eyes are upon him, he will bring us out of every storm.  The enemy will come but we will be strong.  Each storm brings us to a new level of faith.  Each crisis that we overcome leads us to higher thinking, and higher ground.

Psalm 31:3-5
For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

When God’s hand is upon our life, it is to show him as the God of our life.  Every benefit that comes from serving him, will be seen upon you too.  He is our rock in the storm.  He is the shelter and the Most High.  Every blessing in my life comes from obedience to him.  Even when he chooses not to bless me it is for my benefit.

Last night in a dream I saw the rock of Gibraltar.  I was standing on the east side looking out at the Mediterranean boasting to those around me that this was not the first time I had been there.  For those who don’t know the history of Gibraltar, it is a little piece of land that sits at the mouth of the Mediterranean as a gateway to the Atlantic Ocean to the west.  It has been a strategic military place for thousands of years.  It is currently a British Protected territory.  It is a miracle that the British have held it for as long as they have.  Many have tried to wrestle it from them but they have failed over and over.

You and I are protected in the rock who is Christ.  When we are in Christ, whatever comes against us will fail.  Every argument, and every strategy of the enemy will fail.  God within us will rise to our defence, and he will show us every root of lies that binds our hearts to the old man.  He will deliver us from the fowler’s snare, and all traps of the enemy.  We overcome because Christ overcame.

The enemy has tried to keep me bound to poverty most of my life, and he spoken a thousand lies that tried to keep me there.  I have always been waiting for an earthly person to give me my inheritance, but our inheritance only comes from the Father.  In one moment, he can change things, but we must let him into the issues of our heart.

In the same dream, I saw the lie that I was entangled in.  I saw the people who had adopted me when I was young.  They were prospering in the dream, but I was not.  I felt like they owed me something.  As I repented of the lie that I was owed an inheritance by man, I placed myself within the shelter of God.  I placed myself in the zone of God’s protection.  If you and I repent of the things that are wrong, he will bless us every time.

The lies of the enemy are the shrapnel and the bullets that come against us.  The truth that comes from God is the rock that protects from the enemies’ charge.  We overcome by the truth, and it sets us free.  And God reveals this truth freely.  He dismantles the lies by his own choice – not because I beg or scream.  He loves me and wants to set me free, and so he comes and does just that.

When we do repent, it sets in motion the advocates of heaven.  Angels are released on assignment to help restore the things that were stolen from us.  In a second dream last night, I saw an angel go into hell and get back what the enemy had stolen.  The angel could even see where the enemy was hiding what was stolen from me.  I made mistakes, but God freely restored to me what was stolen because I repented of the lies I agreed with.

He will do the same for you!  Just turn to him today.  He wants to bless your life.  He has plans for you that outnumber the stars.  Each plan is good and will fulfill your life.  I pray that you will have courage in the face of the opposition that comes to you and may you live a life of great blessing.
