I painted this at least three times.  the original two are in Korea.  The Koreans think this is Jesus coming to visit in the night.  I thought of it as a man who wakes in the night hours to see an angel appear in his room.  his eyes are wide and he is shocked by the apparation that he has seen.
 
Not every encounter that I have had with angels has been peaceful.  There have been times I was filled with fear.  This is a depiction of that feeling that I had during those times.
