The Release of the Arrows of God

Over the last two months my family and I have been driving on a missions trip throughout the USA. By the time we get home in two weeks we will have seen more of America than most Americans. We will have driven close to 11,000 miles or 17,000 kms. We have seen many famous sights: the grand canyon, the painted desert, the petrified forest, and Death Valley. I will have ministered in about 12 states by the time I am finished and driven through many more.

It has been a journey filled with the miracles of God. We have seen people delivered, healed and set free. We have seen miracles that I had only heard of in the bible like water being turned into wine and bread appearing out of heaven. We saw this is Arizona. My friend had a bottle of Dasani water in his fridge. It was sealed shut. When he woke up in the morning it was turned to some sort of juice. We had some together and it was the best tasting juice I had ever had. We started calling it angel juice for fun.

When I was with my friend my five kids and I also found over 120 gemstones of various colour. It was amazing to watch my children crawling around the floor laughing and fighting each other for these stones. I myself found about 22 of them. We shouldn’t be surprised when these things happen in the presence of God. It happened to Moses and Aaron (Exodus 24:9-10). When they had an encounter with God there was gemstones beneath his feet.

We also have encountered supernatural provision. Three times people contacted me and asked me to stop in their towns as I was driving through. Two of these people I had never met before. They showed uncommon hospitality to my family. Providing us with accommodations and money for food and gas as we continued our journey. It has been a truly amazing journey.

As I was driving across Texas the Lord began to paint a prophetic picture for me. He pointed out arrows. I looked up into the sky and there was a giant arrow in the clouds. There are times when you see something like that and God says, “What do you see?” It was one of those moments.

About 30 minutes later we were driving through a small Texas town when I looked up again and the name of a business was Arrow. I knew that God was definitely trying to get my attention but I had no idea what He was trying to say.

A day later the Lord brought to my attention the scripture in Zechariah 9:11-15. He also showed me 2 Kings 13:15-19, but for today I will focus on the passage in Zechariah which says,"

11 “As for you also,

Because of the blood of your covenant,

I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

12 Return to the stronghold,

You prisoners of hope.

Even today I declare

That I will restore double to you.

13 For I have bent Judah, My bow,

Fitted the bow with Ephraim,

And raised up your sons, O Zion,

Against your sons, O Greece,

And made you like the sword of a mighty man.”

14 Then the Lord will be seen over them,

And His arrow will go forth like lightning.

The Lord God will blow the trumpet,

And go with whirlwinds from the south.

15 The Lord of hosts will defend them;

They shall devour and subdue with slingstones.

They shall drink and roar as if with wine;

They shall be filled with blood like [a]basins,

Like the corners of the altar.

There are a few elements that I wish to highlight from passage because I feel that this is a NOW WORD for the body of Christ. First I love verse 12 that says, it is because of the blood of the covenant that God will set the prisoners free. This is something to be truly thankful for. Because of the blood of Jesus you and I can live fully redeemed lives from the curse. God wants to bless your life and as you enter into relationship with Christ this is your inheritance.

It is because of the blood that those of us in Christ will be set free from from the waterless pit (vs. 11). I believe that this is the place of soul sickness. It is the place of sin. It is the place of anxiety, fear and depression. God is setting you and I free from that which would torment us because of the blood of the lamb. Are there areas in your life today that represent dry and arid places. God is redeeming those places and you are going to rise out of them. Get ready to receive joy for sadness and beauty for ashes. There is a divine exchange taking place.

God is going to make you a lightning arrow for his glory. (Vs. 13) That verse says, "He is making Judah his bow." Judah brings to mind Jesus. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5) and He is being bent back as a bow to shoot forth arrows of Ephraim or arrows of praise. Ephraim means praise.

God is about to launch his arrows of praise throughout the earth. These are people who will have had amazing encounters with the Lord. He will make himself seen over them (vs. 14). They will shine with his glory.

These are not conquerors in the since that they are people of war. They will be like Christ who knew what his assignment was in this world while also knowing that he wasn’t of this world. He was a man of peace. He was the king of peace. He came to bring his peace into this world into the lives of those who would serve him.

These arrows or people are filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). There is coming a wave of glory upon the body of Christ. There is a purity of spirit that is rising up to achieve this great purpose. God Himself will be seen in the bride. They will be pure and spotless without guile in a polluted generation that has compromised itself with sin.

I declare that you are His arrow of praise and that you will go forth into the earth as Jesus commands. He is going to shoot you out into places that you didn’t even imagine you would go. He is going to launch you into towns, states and countries you didn’t even consider. He will use you to bring his presence, his healing and his deliverance to many lives. You are HIs arrow and you will achieve great things in the Lord.
